A quick update today. I finally got one of the terrain items painted that I picked up at 'Fall-In 2011' This is the 'Pig Poke' from Architects of War. I think it will go well in my current fantasy campaign as well as with WWII gaming.
Its a great model and was fun to paint up. Although as usual I struggled painting weathered wood. For some reason I just cannot get it to turn out very well. It either comes out to brown or to grey. If anyone has any tips of tricks on how to paint weathered wood I would appreciate it.

That's a nice piece. Reminds me that I haven't painted anything new in quite a while. Maybe this weekend...
ReplyDeleteLooks fine to me. Woe be the one who hops the fence and comes face-to-face with mamma sow!
ReplyDeleteGood job mate! I think it came out well!
ReplyDeleteI too think it looks good. I'll go out on a limb here, have you thought about mixing an intermediate wood highlight shade? Perhaps something in between straight Brown and straight grey will sort it out.
ReplyDeleteLooks fine to me too, you could dry brush it a lighter brown , that might brighten it up, if that's what your after?
ReplyDeleteWell if its a pig pen its all going to be the same color. Poop brown mixed with mud. And good thing you can't paint smells.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks very good to be honest. Solid work!
