Blocks so many blocks...

No real progress to report on the minis front.  However, I was able to visit a miniature gaming store about 1.5 hours away from me that I rarely get to go to.  I picked up a few things but I was mostly going to show a friend the store.  He offered to drive and pay for lunch so I could not refuse.  My biggest purchase was a new boardgame, Command and Colors Ancients from GMT.  I am interested in the ancients era and had heard good things about this game so with my friend's "encouragement" I bought it.  Below you can see a picture of the game out of box.

So last night and tonight have consisted of 'assembling' the game.  By assemble I mean putting the unit stickers on 345 small blocks and seven dice.  I finished the Roman units and now it is on to the Carthaginians.  I did read through the rules and it seems like it will be alot of fun, after I finish putting the stickers on that is.  :)

  2. Very cool. I've heard a lot of good things about this game too (though I've not played it). Try not to get a repetitive motion injury though.

  3. I bought the game several years ago. It looks like fun, I think I would enjoy it. I have read AARs and looked at the ccancients website in all its glory. But I know when I open the box, I will have to put stickers on the blocks. So it remains unopened. I am half thinking of playing with my miniatures rather than stickering!

  4. I understand about not wanting to face the assembly. I too have heard a lot of positive things about this game. Enjoy.
