I made a little more progress on the stockade fort today. I built the "gate house." I'm not really sure its much of a gate house its more of a gate with a walkway above it but it will do. Eventually I'll add a small stockade section to the walkway. Unfortunately I did not plan it out well enough so when I got to point of actually hanging the gates I realized I have left my self with very few options for making working gates. For now they will have to be played barred shut. However, as you see the section containing the gates is removable and so eventually I might take some time and plan a section with gates that will actually open and close. For now this will do. My next step for the "gate house" besides adding the top stockade will be to paint it to look like weathered wood. I will be doing some research into painting techniques to get the desire effect. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
